The GIST: With playoffs hitting the men’s soccer pitch in a matter of days and the women’s volleyball court in a month, the NCAA selection committees have been busy compiling their final rankings before official picks separate the “so fetch” squads from those in the Burn Book. Here’s who’s (almost) in.

⚽️ Men’s soccer: Today marks exactly two weeks until NCAA selection Monday, and the potential Top 16 just dropped on Friday. Topping the committee’s seeding, and reflecting the national poll, are the only undefeated teams: No. 1 Washington, No. 2 Kentucky and No. 3 Duke.

  • The biggest differences from the national ranks? No. 14 Tulsa, who received a seven seed, No. 18 Virginia, who clocked in at 11, No. 25 Cornell’s seat at 13 and both unranked Akron and Oregon State’s shocking placements at 12 and 16, respectively.
  • As much as this list provides insight into the committee’s thinking, expect significant shifts. This weekend, No. 7 Portland, No. 9 Louisville, No. 10 Lipscomb and No. 12 SMU — all seeded in the Top 16 — fell to unranked opponents. Talk about bad timing.

🏐 Women’s volleyball: The court queens have four full weeks of regular season play ahead, but without conference tourneys to determine national championship automatic bids, every match counts. The committee’s second (and final) Top 10 of the season hit yesterday, encompassing all matches through Saturday.

  • Leading the path to the natty net? No. 2 Texas, who may retake the national poll’s No. 1 spot later today. No. 4 Louisville, No. 1 Nebraska, No. 7 Pittsburgh and No. 3 San Diego, in order, round out the committee’s Top 5.
  • But while nine of the committee’s first Top 10 seeding made the second list, it was bad news for the Boilermakers, as No. 12 Purdue fell from selection. Sliding in for the kill? Newcomer No. 5 Wisconsin, who grabbed this weekend’s seven seed. Grool.
