This Week from the Flyers, Sixers, Phillies

The GIST: More upsets, more life. Two of the top-ranked teams in women’s basketball suffered their first losses of the season this past week, meaning there will likely be even more movement when the top 25 rankings are updated later today. The anticipation.

The GIST: The Clippers are without their biggest stars, and the Sparks might lose some of their own. Not, not panicking.

The GIST: The Toronto Blue Jays are a busy bunch. On the same day that newly signed outfielder George Springer was introduced to Toronto media (welcome to Pressure Island, George), the Jays added two more to the roster.

The GIST: The Sixers beat LeBron (and team), and the Phillies finally signed J.T. Realmuto in a blockbuster deal. Mood.

The GIST: No (real) football, no problem. There’s plenty of ranked women’s basketball (WBB) action and season opening volleyball play on tap to keep us busy while we wait another week for Amanda Gorman’s performance at the big game.
