Figure skating: Though the red and white won gold in PyeongChang, Canada currently sits in sixth in the team event after last night’s opening performances. Most notably, men’s star Keegan Messing was MIA as he’s currently in COVID-19 limbo.

  • Only the top five teams make the next round, with Canada’s hopes falling on 18-year-old Madeline Schizas’s short program tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. ET. No pressure, no diamonds.

🥌 Mixed doubles curling: Rachel Homan and John Morris are bringing down the house thus far, as they notched their third straight win with an 8–6 victory over China this morning.

🎿Freestyle skiing: Yesterday morning, men’s moguls legend Mikaël Kingsbury finished first in the qualification round to claim his spot in the men’s final.

  • And it was also smooth skiing on the women’s side, as all three Canadians finished in the top 15 — Justine Dufour-Lapointe qualified for the finals in 10th, while the others will move on to round two.
