The GIST: The San Antonio Spurs’ future has never been brighter after landing the 2023 No. 1 overall draft pick (aka generational talent Victor Wembanyama) in last night’s NBA Draft Lottery. And on the court, the Conference Finals are already off to the races.

Western Conference Finals: With home-court advantage on their side, the Denver Nuggets took last night’s Game 1, holding off the LA Lakers for a thrilling 132–126 victory. Denver’s Nikola Jokić led the charge, posting yet another triple-double. Tune in tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. ET to see if LeBron James and Co. can get their groove back and even the series in Game 2.

Eastern Conference Finals: It’ll be yet another battle of the Js when Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics face off against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat for the second straight year. This series went all the way last time around, with the C’s ultimately coming out on top in seven games.
